Eclipse Play

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026

Eclipse Play is a music player for songs you own. Your music stays on your iPhone. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and the app works fully without an account.

In short: we don't collect anything unless you choose to sign in with an Eclipse Direct account. If you do, we use your email address and account ID only to sign you in and download the music you've bought. We never sell data or share it for advertising.

Music and library data on your device

Songs you import, your library information (titles, artists, albums, artwork, play counts), playlists, your queue and your settings are stored only on your iPhone. They're included in your device backups like any other app data. We don't receive any of it.

When you import from the Files app, Eclipse Play copies only the files you select. Your original files are not changed.

Photos

If you choose a cover photo for a song, album, artist or playlist, Eclipse Play uses the system photo picker. The app can only see the photo you pick, and it's stored on your iPhone.

Optional Eclipse Direct sign-in

Signing in is optional. If you sign in with your Eclipse Direct account:

This information is used only to provide these features (app functionality). It is not used for tracking or advertising. Your Eclipse Direct account is governed by the Eclipse Direct Privacy Policy.

The Eclipse Direct app on the same iPhone

If you also use the Eclipse Direct app, songs you download there can be handed to Eclipse Play through storage shared between the two apps on your device. That hand-off never leaves your iPhone. You can turn it off in Eclipse Play's Settings.

Network access

Eclipse Play contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. It only connects to the internet when you're signed in, to load your purchases, download songs, and fetch artwork and artist photos.

Your choices

Children

Eclipse Play is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
